For Drivers

Driver FAQ

Straight answers about eligibility, pay, the background check, and how the whole thing actually works.

Getting started

Who's eligible to drive?

The full list, exactly what you'll confirm when you sign up:

  • 25 years of age or older
  • A valid, unexpired driver's license
  • No DUI, DWI, or reckless driving convictions in the past 7 years
  • Fewer than 2 minor traffic violations in the past 5 years
  • You're the primary driver of the vehicle you list (80%+ of its use)
  • Your vehicle is in good or excellent condition, no major visible damage
  • A hard rear window. Soft-top convertibles, soft-top Jeeps/Broncos, and fabric-top vehicles aren't eligible, since perforated vinyl can't adhere to soft-top material
  • A single piece of rear glass, no sliding center section (common on some pickup trucks)
  • Active auto insurance meeting your state's minimum coverage, maintained for the length of any campaign
  • You're responsible for confirming the ad doesn't violate any HOA, community association, or lease/parking rules where you live or park
  • If you drive for a rideshare or delivery platform (Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, etc.), confirm that third-party advertising doesn't violate your agreement with them

You'll also consent to a driving-record check before your first campaign, more on that below.

What's a "single-piece rear window," and why does it matter?

It means your rear windshield is one solid piece of glass, not a sliding center section (common on some pickup trucks) and not a soft-top or fabric convertible top. The ad is a perforated vinyl decal, and it needs one continuous piece of glass to adhere to properly. If you're not sure, most SUVs, sedans, and hatchbacks qualify. Trucks with a sliding rear window don't, at least not yet.

What happens after I sign up?

You'll complete your profile (phone, date of birth, license) and add your vehicle and insurance. From there, we review your vehicle and assign it a tier, usually within 1-2 business days. Once a local business is a fit for your car, we run a quick driving-record check, match you to their campaign, and send a contract to review and sign. You choose whether to accept each match.

After that, your kit ships, you install it yourself with the included instructions, and submit a quick photo for approval. Once it's approved, you're earning.

Pay

How much can I earn?

Up to $250 a month, depending on your vehicle's tier and how many miles you drive weekly. Higher-mileage, newer vehicles land in higher tiers and earn more, since your ad gets more exposure.

How do I actually get paid?

Monthly, by direct deposit, based on a quick odometer photo you submit each month. No invoicing, nothing to chase down.

Do I need to set anything up to get paid?

Yes, a one-time step: you'll connect a bank account through Stripe, our payment processor. It's Stripe's own secure, hosted signup, so we never see or store your bank details directly. It only takes a few minutes, and you'll want it done before your first payout is due.

Is Stripe the only way I get paid?

Yes. Stripe is the sole payment processor for the platform, for driver payouts and business billing alike. There's no separate check, PayPal, or manual process, everything runs through the same trusted system.

Is this a job? Do I get a W-2?

No, you're an independent contractor, not an employee. If you earn $600 or more in a calendar year, Stripe will issue you a 1099-NEC directly, using the taxpayer information you provide to Stripe when you connect your bank account. No separate paperwork with us.

The background check

When does the driving-record check happen?

Once you're matched to a local business's campaign, not before. It's run through Checkr, our licensed background-check provider, at no cost to you, and typically clears in 1-2 business days. It checks license validity and violation history, including DUI/DWI.

What if I don't pass?

Any disqualifying factors are disclosed in your driver agreement up front, so there's no guesswork. If something on your record raises a concern, Checkr sends you a formal notice before any final decision is made, along with a copy of the report and a summary of your rights under federal law. You'll have a window to review it and dispute anything inaccurate before it's final.

The ad itself

Will this damage my car?

No. It's a professional perforated-vinyl decal, designed to be installed and removed cleanly without damaging your window. You'll get clear instructions with the kit, and our team reviews your install photo before you go live.

Do I have to accept every advertiser I'm matched with?

No. You review each match and can accept or decline it. You're never locked into an advertiser you're not comfortable representing.

How long does the ad stay on my car?

It matches the length of the business campaign you're matched to, typically 3, 6, or 12 months. You can close your account at any time, subject to any active campaign you're already committed to.
